Best TradingView Indicators for Gold (XAUUSD) in 2026: Free and Paid

Short answer: For gold, the most useful TradingView indicators show where volume traded and how far gold usually moves: VWAP, a volume profile (value area and POC), ATR, and the prior day, week and month highs and lows. On the free plan you only get 2 indicators per chart, so one indicator that combines VWAP, volume profile levels and prior highs and lows (like the free AK FlowBook Lite 2) plus ATR is a strong setup. Use real futures volume (COMEX GC) for the levels, because broker XAUUSD volume is only tick count.

Why the volume source matters for XAUUSD

XAUUSD from a broker or CFD provider is a quote, not an exchange. The "volume" under it is usually the number of price changes (tick volume) at that one provider. The real traded volume of gold is in COMEX gold futures (GC, and micro MGC). Levels built from futures volume are the ones large participants actually see.

Three ready-made setups

Free plan (2 indicators): day trader

5-minute COMEX:GC1! chart (real volume; or XAUUSD, knowing its volume is tick volume). AK FlowBook Lite 2 (VWAPs, value areas, POCs, prior highs and lows) + ATR(14) on the daily for stop size. Mark the levels before London; trade only reactions at them (day trading for beginners).

Swing trader

4-hour or daily chart. Lite 2 set to weekly and monthly levels + EMA 50/200. Buy-side ideas only above the 200 EMA and monthly VWAP, sell-side only below, unless price is clearly accepted back inside value.

Scalper

1-minute chart in the London and New York opens only. Lite 2 for the day's VWAP and value edges, and a real order flow view (footprint or order book) for the timing. On TradingView that means AK FlowBook Full; outside it, Bookmap or NinjaTrader with a futures data feed.

How to add AK FlowBook Lite 2 (free)

  1. Send your TradingView username in the form on the Lite page (or comment LITE on our Instagram).
  2. Within 24 hours your username is added to the invite-only script.
  3. In TradingView: Indicators → Invite-only scripts → AK FlowBook Lite 2. It works on any symbol with volume: gold, indices, crypto, forex futures. Its levels come from the chart's own volume, so for gold apply it to GC1! (or MGC1!) for exchange volume.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best TradingView indicator for gold?

There is no single best one, but volume-based levels (VWAP and a volume profile's POC and value area) are the most useful for gold, plus ATR for stop size.

Is volume profile free on TradingView?

TradingView lists its volume profile tools in the features of its paid plans. Free alternatives are community scripts, or AK FlowBook Lite 2, which draws value areas and POCs without the built-in tool.

How many indicators can I use on the free TradingView plan?

Two per chart on the Basic plan, according to TradingView's pricing page. That is why one indicator that combines several levels saves a slot.

Is XAUUSD volume on TradingView real?

Usually not exchange volume: it is the provider's tick volume. For real traded volume use COMEX gold futures (GC1!), then convert the levels to XAUUSD.

Which timeframe is best for gold indicators?

Levels from the daily, weekly and monthly sessions; entries on 1 to 15 minutes for day trading, 1-hour to daily for swing trading.

Are buy/sell signal indicators for gold reliable?

Rarely. Many repaint or ignore costs. Test them in the strategy tester with commission and slippage before trusting any win rate.

What is the best indicator for gold scalping?

Scalping needs order flow (footprint, order book) on top of VWAP and value edges; a lagging oscillator on 1-minute is mostly noise.

Does AK FlowBook Lite 2 give signals?

No. Its alerts fire when price reaches a level or context marker, not buy or sell calls. It shows levels and context (above, inside or below value). Decisions stay with you.
