Display mode, Marker mode and event switches

Three controls decide how busy your chart looks. Display mode controls a few map layers. Marker mode controls the small diagnostic markers. The per-event switches turn individual markers on or off. None of them change what the indicator calculates; they only change what it draws.

Display mode

Setting: Display mode in the Quick Start / Display group. Default: Clean.

Everything else is controlled by its own switch.

Marker mode

Setting: Marker mode in the Marker Quality (Elite mode) group. Default: Elite.

  • Elite: hides every diagnostic marker (D~, BV~, A~, CVD~, Δ÷, EXH, LQ, SFP, TK+/TK−, 3D PRZ and the volume-chunk bubbles). Setup context markers show only the top tier, A+. Turn on Elite also shows tier-A setups to include tier A as well.
  • Normal and All: show the diagnostic markers you switched on in the Event Markers group, and setup context markers of every tier (A+, A and B). In the current version Normal and All behave the same.

The engine keeps calculating everything in every mode. Marker mode filters only the display, and with Elite filter also applies to setup alerts on (the default), it also filters setup alerts to the tiers you can see.

Show enabled events in Elite mode too

Setting: Show enabled events in Elite mode too (Event Markers group, default Off).

  • Off: Elite hides all diagnostic markers, whatever the switches below say.
  • On: the per-event switches decide. Anything you switch on is drawn, even in Elite mode, while setup markers still follow the Elite tier filter.

Per-event switches

All in the Event Markers (per-event on/off) group.

SwitchDefaultMarker
AK Setup markers (Long / Short setup)OnThe AK <score> setup context labels. Detection and alerts keep working when hidden.
Δ Delta marker (D~)OnDelta estimate events. The min Z field next to it sets the display threshold.
▪ Big volume (BV~)OnUnusual bar volume with a directional close.
◆ Absorption (A~)OnHeavy volume that did not move price.
CVD~ divergenceOnPrice swing versus cumulative delta estimate.
Δ÷ directional-volume divergenceOnPrice swing versus recent delta estimate. Hidden in Clean.
● Large intrabar-volume chunksOnBubbles for unusually large 1-minute volume. Hidden in Clean. The × avg vol field sets the size threshold.
EXH exhaustionOffNew extreme made against the delta estimate.
LQ Liquidity sweepsOffSweep of a recent high or low with a close back.
SFP swing failureOffFailed break of the last swing high or low.
TK± Ichimoku crossesOffTenkan and Kijun crosses.

The field next to the delta switch is titled min |Z| (default 2.1). Both it and D~ display minimum absolute Z in the Volume / Order-Flow Proxies group apply to D~; the higher of the two wins. It also sets the delta threshold FlowBook X uses. The × avg vol field (default 2.5) also sets the chunk size that FlowBook X and the setup engine count. Changing these two fields changes more than the display.

Some markers have a second switch in their own group, for example Show sweep markers, Show SFP events, Show exhaustion markers, Show TK cross markers and Show 3-Drive PRZ markers. Both switches must be on.

Not affected by Marker mode

These layers are controlled only by their own settings: the VWAP map, profile levels, naked levels, EQH/EQL, session lines, zone boxes, the footprint panel, the dashboard, FLOWBOOK X markers, the white R and green H divergence markers, and the whole 15-minute liquidity layer.

Three useful set-ups

GoalChanges from the defaults
Map only (levels, no markers)Show qualified setup markers off, Enable FLOWBOOK X off, Enable origin-TF liquidity layer off
Flow studyMarker mode Normal, Display mode Analysis, EXH exhaustion on
EverythingMarker mode All, Display mode Full, all per-event switches on
Tip: Turn markers on one family at a time. A chart with every marker on is hard to read, and TradingView deletes the oldest drawings once a script reaches its drawing limit.
