Does AK FlowBook tell me when to buy or sell?
No. It shows levels, volume context and liquidity, and the Full build marks bars where several conditions line up at a level. It gives no buy or sell calls, no stops, no targets and no position sizes, and it does not place trades. Decisions stay yours. See Setup context.
Is this a signal service?
No. It is an analysis and education tool. The AK score labels and FlowBook X markers are setup context: a description of what lined up on a closed bar. We publish no win rates or performance statistics for them, and a higher score is not a higher chance of anything.
Does it show real order flow?
No. TradingView gives indicators price and bar volume only. There is no order book, no market-by-order data and no bid/ask. Delta, CVD, absorption, imbalance and the footprint panel are estimates from 1-minute bars, always marked with ~. See Intrabar flow estimates. For real exchange order flow, see AK FlowBook for NinjaTrader.
What is the difference between Lite and Full?
Lite is free for followers and shows the full context map: VWAP, profiles, naked levels, flow estimates, structure markers, sessions and a context dashboard. Full adds setup context markers, FlowBook X, the 15-minute liquidity layer, Ichimoku context, the 3-Drive pattern zone and more alert types. See the comparison table.
How do I get it?
Lite: follow @akorderflow on Instagram, send LITE in a DM and reply with your TradingView username. Full: coming soon, join the waitlist on our TradingView page. See Get access.
Which markets does it work on?
It was built and tuned on gold: XAUUSD CFDs and GC futures. The levels (VWAP, profiles, naked levels, prior highs and lows) work on any symbol with volume. Setup context markers are limited to XAUUSD/GC 5-minute by default. Use another market preset for crypto or forex and treat the results as your own research.
Which timeframe should I use?
5 minutes for gold. That is where setup context runs by default, the liquidity layer works (it needs 1 to 5 minutes), and the flow engine uses 1-minute intrabars. The map works on any intraday timeframe. Above 1 hour, the flow estimates use coarser intrabars.
Does it repaint?
- Levels: developing values (today's VWAP, POC, VAH, VAL) move during the period by design. Finished periods, prior highs and lows and naked levels do not change.
- Higher-timeframe values: use closed higher-timeframe candles only.
- Setup context markers: decided at the bar close by default (
Confirm on bar close). - Swing-based markers (
CVD~,Δ÷,3D PRZ, structure): appear a few bars after the swing and are drawn back on the swing bar. On historical bars this can look earlier than it was in real time. D~,BV~,A~: can change on the live bar until it closes.- Liquidity layer: works on closed bars and closed 5- and 15-minute candles.
Why are the numbers different on XAUUSD and GC?
Futures trade at a different price than spot (the basis), the volume comes from different sources, and the trading day can start at a different time. See Futures levels on a CFD chart.
Can I see or edit the code?
No. Both builds are invite-only with protected source code. You can change every public setting.
Can I backtest it?
The indicator does not include a backtest or a statistics panel. If you study it, do so on your own, with your own records, and remember that results on past data say nothing certain about the future.
Do I need a paid TradingView plan?
You need a TradingView account. Seconds-based intrabar timeframes need a Premium plan; the default 1-minute intrabars do not. TradingView plans also limit how many indicators you can add per chart and how much history loads, and futures data may need a real-time data subscription. Check TradingView's current plan details.
Why do I see so few markers?
The default view (Clean display, Elite marker mode) hides most diagnostic markers on purpose. See Display and marker modes.
Do alerts include trade levels?
No. Alerts name the event, the symbol and timeframe, and the bar's close price for context. See Alerts.
How is it related to the daily levels you post?
Our daily gold posts and the live gold page use levels built from real gold futures data. AK FlowBook for TradingView rebuilds similar levels from TradingView data on your own chart, so values can differ slightly.
Education only. Not financial advice. Trading futures and CFDs carries a high risk of loss.
