FlowBook X confluence marker
What the label looks likeThe three ingredientsWhen and where it appearsAlertsHow to read itSettings
FlowBook X is a confluence marker. It appears on a bar where three separate things happen together: a momentum divergence, a touch of a daily, weekly or monthly VWAP or value-area edge, and at least one volume-flow estimate pointing the same way. It is context for your own reading, not an instruction to trade.

What the label looks like
| Label | Placement and color | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
FLOWBOOK X / LONG SETUP | Below the low, green, black text | Long setup context: divergence, a lower level touch and flow agree on the long side. |
FLOWBOOK X / SHORT SETUP | Above the high, red, white text | Short setup context: divergence, an upper level touch and flow agree on the short side. |
Hover the label to see the tooltip, for example FLOWBOOK X Long setup | R+H | W VAL | Flow CVD DELTA (2/3) | Instant on close. It lists the divergence type, the level, the flow events that matched (and how many of the enabled ones), and the mark timing.
The three ingredients
1. Momentum divergence (R and H)
A built-in divergence engine compares price swings with a fast stochastic oscillator and Ichimoku-style midlines:
- R (regular divergence): price makes a new low (or high) near the low (or high) of its recent range while the oscillator does not confirm it. Often read as possible exhaustion of the move.
- H (hidden divergence): in an existing trend, price pulls back to the Tenkan or Kijun area and holds, while the oscillator makes a deeper pullback. Often read as possible continuation.
RD/HD events counted decides whether R, H or both count. You can draw the raw events too: Show white R markers (white triangles) and Show green H markers (green triangles), off by default. With Draw divergence lines on, a line connects the earlier swing to the current point.
2. Level touch
Within Level-touch tolerance (ATR) (0.16) of:
- Long side: the developing D, W or M VAL, or a D, W or M VWAP with the close at or above it.
- Short side: the developing D, W or M VAH, or a D, W or M VWAP with the close at or below it.
Profile scope limits this to the day, week, month or any of them. VWAP, VAH for Short and VAL for Long switch each level type on or off.
3. Flow estimate
At least Minimum aligned flow events (1) of the enabled events on the same side:
CVD divergence: aCVD~divergence (see Intrabar flow estimates).BigTrade: more large 1-minute volume chunks on that side than on the other. The size threshold is the× avg volfield in the Event Markers group.Delta: a delta estimate event at least as strong as themin |Z|field next toΔ Delta marker (D~)in the Event Markers group.
With Order-flow synchronization window (bars) at 0 the flow event must be on the same bar. Higher values let a recent flow event on the same side count.
When and where it appears
- It runs on any symbol and timeframe. It is not limited by
Limit setup markers to XAU/GC 5-minute; useRestrict FLOWBOOK X to XAU/GC 5-minuteif you want that limit. - It is not affected by
Marker modeor the setup marker switches. UseEnable FLOWBOOK Xto hide it. - No new labels appear inside the news window.
- It is drawn across the whole loaded history. On long histories it shares TradingView's label limit with other labels, so the oldest labels may disappear.
Timing
Mark timing (in the FB RD/HD Core group) controls when the divergence counts:
- Instant on close (default): decided at the bar close, no extra delay. The label does not appear and then vanish.
- Instant live: can appear during the bar and change before it closes.
- Confirmed +2: waits two more bars. For comparison only.
Confirm FLOWBOOK X on candle close (off) additionally fixes FlowBook X at the bar close. With the default Instant on close timing the marker is already decided at the close. If you switch to Instant live, turn this on to avoid labels that disappear.
Detection profile
Detection profile sets how sensitive the divergence engine is:
- Universal auto (default): picks a sensitivity based on your chart timeframe.
- Intraday clean, Intraday balanced, 4H Gold clean: fixed profiles that keep the same sensitivity on every timeframe. Intraday balanced is the most permissive of the three.
- Strict: the fewest, most demanding divergences.
- Original-like: the loosest profile, with the oscillator zone filter off.
Instant: require oscillator turn (on) asks the oscillator to start turning before an instant divergence counts.
Alerts
FlowBook X alerts are off by default. Turn on Dynamic FLOWBOOK X alert() messages; the global Enable unified runtime alerts switch must also be on. The message looks like:
AKFB Full | FLOWBOOK X Long setup | XAUUSD 5 @ <price> | R+H | D VAL | CVD BT DELTA
The fields are the divergence type, the level touched (D VAL, W VAH, M VWAP and so on) and the flow events (CVD, BT for BigTrade, DELTA). The price is the bar's close, given for context. See Alerts.
How to read it
- FlowBook X tells you that momentum, location and volume agreed on one bar. Check the bigger context: higher-timeframe trend, where price sits in the weekly value, and what the next bars do.
- R events at a VAL or VAH and H events at a VWAP describe different situations: a possible turn at an edge versus a possible continuation after a pullback.
